Emerson Homes will provide 43 units of high-quality, affordable housing for adults 62 and over. Its studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units will house formerly homeless people, bringing much-needed housing stability to the Topsfield community. Emerson Homes will be an all-electric (no gas) project with heat pumps, a significant array of solar panels, and EV charging spots. As OPM, Tierney engaged from the beginning with in-depth drawing and specification review and GC bidding and leveling.
City of Boston Healthy & Green Program
The City of Boston’s Healthy and Green Retrofit Pilot Program is providing 30 two- to four-unit homeowners with low-cost loans to make their homes healthier, more comfortable, and more resilient. Tierney has managed every phase of each project from the first assessment to final completion.
4 Mellen Street
4 Mellen Street restores a prominent, nationally-registered historic building that once served as the Lesley University admissions building and originally as the 1860’s home of a Cambridge mayor. A six-story Passive House addition creates 29 new affordable homes on a difficult, tight site.
Travis Park Apartments
The comprehensive renovation of Travis Park Apartments brings new life to a long-standing community in Austin, TX. Modern kitchens and bathrooms and fully accessible units will preserve the livability of these 199 town homes for many years to come.
Dana Street

By rethinking traditional methods and leveraging modular building solutions, the project now benefits from significant time and cost savings without sacrificing design quality.
110 Ocean
Innovative Mass Timber Glu-Lam and CLT construction gave our client an extra floor of beachfront affordable living units within zoning limits, compressed construction time by several weeks, allowed stairs to be accessible without waiting for framing, eliminated wet slab construction, and housed the new residents in warm, quiet, and sustainable homes. TDS provided OPM services on this Passive House project from initial design through construction.
